IGNOU Launches MA in Bhagavad Gita Studies: Know fees and other details


Now students will be able to gain knowledge of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta from Indira Gandhi National Open University. The institute has started a degree program on Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta. This course will be conducted in ODL mode from July 2024 session. To do this course, students will have to pay a fee of Rs 12,600.

There was no degree program on Shrimadbhagwat Gita in any university in the world. Even the Hindu University of America only offers certificate or diploma courses. Gita is partially included in the curriculum of various universities in India but all the courses were limited to certificate courses or diploma courses only. But IGNOU has started an MA program in Bhagwad Gita.

The full name of this program is MA Bhagavad Gita Studies. Professor Devesh Kumar Mishra has designed and developed this course under the guidance of Vice Chancellors and Acharyas of many universities. He has also been made the coordinator of this program. Currently, this program is available in Hindi medium. But in the coming years, it can also be taught in English medium. Apart from this, this program will be taken to foreign countries.

Professor Devesh Kumar Mishra has conducted programs like MA Jyotish, MA Vedic Studies, MA Hindu Studies, PG Diploma in Vastushastra, Certificate Program in Sanskrit Conversation in the last 3 years. He is the coordinator of all these programs. Admissions and examinations for all these are being conducted in IGNOU.

You will have to pay this much fee

To pursue this program, students will have to pay a fee of Rs 12,600 i.e. Rs 6,300 per year. To pursue the course, the candidate must be a graduate from a recognized institute. This program has a total of 80 credits.
